Oakmont

I got to play Oakmont for my second time in my life this summer. It was a week where I happen to play Oakmont, Merion, Deepdale, Quaker Ridge and Winged Foot all in succession (which was awesome obviously, but also a useful point of comparison).

Oakmont was by far the finest of all these courses and probably the nicest course I played all year. The greens crew works hard at Oakmont and it shows.

I was less intimidated this time by Oakmont and I recommend that new players don’t get overwhelmed by how hard the course is, and just enjoy how beautiful and fun it is.

I also strongly recommend you check out the Oakmont bakery outside the gates about a mile away. Amazing.
