Shoreacres

For a number of years now I have heard that Shoreacres is one of the best courses in the US and perhaps the nicest in Chicago (even over Chicago Golf Club).

Located north of the city, and along Lake Michigan, the course did not disappoint and is worthy of all this golf-nerd hype.

Designed by Seth Raynor, the holes are varied and interesting, challenging but fun. There are two natural land features that Raynor takes advantage of time and again throughout the 18 holes. One is a natural grassy ravine the snakes along the property. The other is a beautiful and also snake-like creek that provides a pleasant yet challenging hazard through much of the round.

The membership is small and the course unhurried. On this beautiful spring day we were the only group on the tee sheet all morning.

Unrelated in any way to the golf, if you get the chance, order the spicy chicken sandwich for lunch. Uh-mazing.

Thank you Mike and Jason for setting up this awesome top-100 round.
