North of Chicago and almost to the Wisconsin border is the beautiful Merit Club. I must confess I had not heard of this wonderful course in my travels but a friend and fellow golf geek encouraged me to try it out.
A former farm this land was meant for golf and spreads out endlessly in a super private and serene course.
The holes are varied and interesting as the routing takes you through the property’s woods and open land equally.
Natural ponds and streams accent the holes and the strategy of playing them.
The maintenance crew keeps the greens, fairways and bunkers in perfect shape.
Really nice (and fun) golf experience and certainly a top-100 course in the US in my mind.
