I have had trouble writing this post as Quaker Ridge is near and dear to me. Before Quaker Ridge I regularly played at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx. Six hour+ rounds were the norm and teeing off on a par four with a three iron not uncommon. My first round in my life with a caddy was at Quaker Ridge. Joining Quaker opened me up to the art of golf course design and the challenge of golf course maintance. Our greenskeeper Tom literally has a degree in Organic Chemstry! For over a decade now I have had the privilege to play this classic course. Over the past few years I have taken some photos of the course and will continue to add to this over the years that come.
A look at 11, my favorite hole over a small creek.
The green on 15.
A look down 18 from the club house.
Another day a view from 18.
From the tee on 14, the only par 5 on the back.
1st hole green
Looking down 14 from behind the green
9th hole, a very tricky par 3.
